Tracey is a former Senior Officer of the Royal Australian Air Force with nearly 30 years experience in operational, instructional and command appointments within the Air Battle Management community.
She has enjoyed postings to Williamtown (near Newcastle), Canberra, Melbourne, Darwin and Florida, USA.
She has been a staff officer to the Chief of Defence Force, established a continuous improvement program within Air Force and instructed US Air Force students while on exchange in Florida. She earned a Conspicuous Service Cross in 2002 for her work as the Executive Officer of an operational unit based in Darwin. She has also held numerous staff positions as a Chief of Staff and in the area of capability definition and development for major capital acquisitions for air defence command and control systems, aircraft, radars and communications.
She has held two Command appointments first as Commanding Officer No. 2 Squadron and then as the first female Officer Commanding of a flying Wing as OC No. 42 Wing. Both of these positions involved introducing the $3.5 billion Airborne Early Warning & Control Wedgetail capability into service, as well as establishing the operational facilities at two RAAF Bases. Tracey commanded over 260 people and managed all facets of the operational capability from planning, logistics, maintenance, capability management, administration, training and safety.
Most recently, Tracey joined Milskil as their Manager, Corporate Strategy and Planning. Milskil provides operational synthetic training to Air Force fighter pilots and air battle managers at Williamtown and Brisbane. Tracey remains a Group Captain in the RAAF Active Reserve.
