RDA Hunter’s ME Program recently attended the Women in Aviation (WAI) inaugural Emerging Leaders Forum and Scholarship dinner with four Hunter region High School Career Advisers to hear about the multitude of opportunities for females in the aviation space.
As a corporate member of WAI, RDA Hunter sponsored four Career Advisers from Hunter region High Schools to travel to Canberra and take part in the Forum where they listened to three panels of industry leaders in the aviation and aerospace industry before attending the WAI Scholarship Gala Dinner in the evening.
At the Emerging Leaders Forum Liana Nadalin (Hunter River HS), Amanda Hine (Newcastle HS), Renee Sommer (Warners Bay HS) and Cassandra Wells (Glendale Technology HS) heard from industry leaders covering topics including the importance of STEM skills in the aviation industry, disruptive technologies and the impact this will have on airports in the future and working towards gender equality and diversity in the aerospace industry.
We would like to thank WAI Australia for holding both events and for the opportunity for the ME Program to attend and represent the Hunter region.
