ABOUT
The University of Newcastle’s Computer Science 4 Schools (CS4S) workshops are free 2-day professional development workshops for in-service and pre-service teachers, and career advisors that involve the following:
- An introduction to Computational Thinking
- Hands-on activities with Coding, Robots and AppInventor
- Examples of the applications of Computer Science in research and industry
- Presentations from educators that have integrated Computer Science activities into their classrooms
The workshops are focused on developing competencies included in the Digital Technologies learning area of the national Australian Curriculum, and are accredited by BOSTES.
The workshops are suitable for in-service and pre-service teachers, both at primary and secondary level. There is no assumed knowledge of computer science or programming required for participation.

The High School workshop will be run on the 18th and 19th of July 2016. You can register for the High School workshop here. If you are currently teaching at a High School, please have your BOSTES teacher number ready when registering.
