An enthusiastic educator, passionate about encouraging student involvement in coding, STEM and PBL based activities and just passionate overall about helping students enjoy learning and achieve their best.
Karen has a teaching load of Senior Industrial Technology Multimedia and IPT and has actively led the teaching of IST and ITMM in Stage 5. She is currently writing an iSTEM Stage 4 course for implementation in 2017 as a stepping stone to the implementation of the new Digital Technologies curriculum in 2018.
As part of the STEM Action Team at MGHS, Karen’s role has been to inform and assist staff from NSW schools with the implementation of STEM into their school curriculum and in particular with the technology component. She actively works to upskill staff and has been involved in the implementation of various STEM activities at MGHS and has worked to ensure positive Industry partnerships for the school.
Karen is Year 10 Year Advisor and works closely with the welfare team supporting students and works positively with staff encouraging positive morale within the school.
