St Catherine’s High School Win Upper Hunter Division of the Science and Engineering Challenge
On Wednesday 15th June a contingent from St Catherine’s comprising of their Year 9 iSTEM class plus some Year 10 students competed in the Upper Hunter division of the Science and Engineering Challenge.
The students performed extremely well and won the day.
According to Tony Edwards from the school
“This is due in large part to the implementation of iSTEM as a Stage 5 elective this year. The results speak for themselves: last year we finished last in the same division, this year we took out the title.”
“You’ll be pleased to note that out of the top 3 schools, 2 are participants in the ME iSTEM program: St Joseph’s Aberdeen finished third and we finished first.”
The students are now extremely pumped and are looking forward to the Newcastle heat before taking out the National titles in Hobart!!
