The ME Program has partnered with Newie Ventures to run an Internet of Things Challenge for 3 Hunter High schools: Newcastle Grammar School, Belmont High School and St Catherine’s Catholic College.
Consisting of an IoT Workshop, IoT Challenge Coaching Session and Challenge Event, the course is a hands-on introduction to the technology and skills involved in the IoT landscape, as well as the benefits and pitfalls promised by the emerging market. It will be a hands on, personalised, introductory instruction on the basics of the IoT landscape. Students will learn about, assemble, test, improve upon, and evaluate a selection of industry
standard hardware & software. Higher IoT concepts such as privacy, security, and big data will be introduced and discussed. Students will be able to demonstrate newly acquired skills and knowledge to their parents, teachers, peers and wider industry.
The IoT Challenge will take place in Term Four this year.
