Regional Development Australia – Hunter Invites you Drones in the Vines
Experience the amazing technology of drones in the beautiful vineyards of the Hunter Valley. UAV Air will be conducting demonstrations as well as holding a seminar about drone technology and providing the chance for some participants to fly a drone! The event runs from 10am – 12pm followed by a BBQ lunch and wine tasting.
UAVAir is a joint venture between Basair, Australia’s largest flying school, and Airsight Australia the most advanced commercial drone operators in Australia. UAVAir has been born out of a growing need for job ready remote pilots. The industry is in it’s infancy however it is expanding quickly. This event will be hosted by Glandore Estate Wines in the Hunter Valley. Glandore Estate Wines are listed with some of Australia’s top restaurants and wine bars. Participants are welcome to stay on for wine tasting at the Cellar Door and a BBQ lunch finishing at 12.45pm. Please consider bringing lunch along if you have dietary requirements. As the venue can be quite cold, it is advised that you bring a jumper along.
The Me Program has provided a free bus will be running to and from the venue.
The bus will stop at:
Newcastle Train Station, Port Stand at 8.30am
Maitland Train Station, Railway Street Bus Stop at 9.15am
Arrive at Glandore Estate Wines 10am.
The bus will depart the vineyard at 12.45pm returning, through Maitland, to Newcastle Train Station at approximately 2.15pm.
This ensures participants are back in time to join the afternoon Science Week event ‘Time Walk’ on the Newcastle Foreshore. (See event details on National Science Week website)
