I am pleased to announce that the 2017 Build Me a Future Days, sponsored by Regional Development Australia – Hunter’s ME program, will again be held in The Great Hall at the University Newcastle from Monday 22nd May to Friday 26th May.
What is ‘Build ME a Future Day?’
‘Build a Future,’ is an initiative that focuses on Year 8 students with the aim of fostering their interest in the practical, hands-on applications of STEM. It also introduces students to the University campus and resources.
This program includes a selection of design and build activities in which your school team will compete against the other schools.
During the day students will also get the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, and immerse themselves is some exciting experiences.
Teachers who have participated in the event in the past have indicated that it has had a significant, positive and lasting effect on the students’ approach to science and technology in the classroom.
