About ME

What is the ME Program?

It is all about creating a path for high school students to experience and explore the career opportunities that are possible in the manufacturing industry.

These opportunities are delivered through a school program tailored to students from years 9-12. Schools provide core subjects like Mathematics, English, Science, Information and Communication Technology and Engineering Studies to provide the foundations for pursuing a career in manufacturing.

This school based learning is combined with vital on the job experience and additional education, delivered by a range of Australia’s leading manufacturers. School students will be equipped with technical skills and knowledge to help them make informed education and career choices. This includes close consultation with education and industry stakeholders.

Experience and education is supported back through the school system, where teachers can mentor students and assist with their early career choices and the subjects they study.

The advanced manufacturing industry provides a range of career opportunities for people with various skills from trade through to university qualifications. ME Program is about creating and promoting opportunities for young people in this region to shape their education and work experience towards a sustainable and fulfilling career path.

ME Program also provides an opportunity for advanced manufacturing sector companies and their employees to invest in the long term future of their sector, by engaging current school students and at the same time adding to their current recruitment initiatives.
